How do I collect Petro-Points on insurance?
Collecting Petro-Points on insurance products and services is easy!
Simply provide your Petro-Points card number when you make your purchase on-line or by phone. As a member, you will earn 10 Petro-Points for each $1 you spend on Petro-Points Insurance Services.
You may also be eligible for bonus points or special offers.

Do you cover pre-existing medical conditions?
Coverage for pre-existing medical conditions depends on the exclusions and stability requirements of each travel insurance policy. If you meet these requirements, you are free to purchase the insurance.
If you have a pre-existing medical condition, you should always read your policy wording carefully to make sure you understand any limitations to your coverage.
If you do not meet the requirements for the insurance products listed on this website, contact our customer care centre at 1-800-350-0126. Our friendly and highly trained customer care representatives may be able to find an alternate product to suit your needs.

Can I get protection in case I have to cancel my trip?
Trip Cancellation is included in our All-Inclusive Travel Insurance plan, which also includes baggage loss, trip interruption, and emergency medical coverage.
If you already have emergency medical coverage (through your employee benefits plan, for example), you may want to look at our Non-Medical Travel Insurance plan, which includes trip cancellation and interruption, as well as baggage loss.
Note: In order for Trip Cancellation to be valid, you must purchase your plan within 48 hours of your ticket or tour purchase.

What kind of long-term travel medical coverage can I get?
Petro-Points Insurance Services offers two options for long-term travel medical coverage.
If you are travelling for less than six months, you will want to look at our International Travel section to find a product that suits your needs.
If you will be travelling for more than six months, or are planning to live abroad, our Expatriate / Long-Term Travel plan may suit your needs.
Note: If you are travelling for longer than six months, you will need to request an extension to your provincial health coverage in order to be eligible for some of our travel insurance plans.

Petro-Points Insurance Services offers a flexible insurance plan that provides individuals with the same coverage as employees insured under a group plan. The plan features a set of core benefits, plus three optional add-on packages.

Life Insurance and Living Benefits are assessed on an individual basis. Your pre-existing medical condition will be a factor, but your assessment will depend on the type and severity of your condition.
